[CUTC] [CUTC weekly email] Bushcraft and snowcraft sign ups this week!

Hi everyone,

For a lot of you, this is your introduction to all the goodness and splendor
that is the CUTC weekly email, coming atcha every Tuesday from the Karo HQ.
Here's where we rant, rave, make obscure allusions to embarrassing things
committee members have done and discuss upcoming club events.

I was pleased to note that everyone who went to Otehake made it out from the
human soup alive and unscarred from all the undie-clad strangers. It was
impressive to see so many people stand up and take the goon. If for some
reason any of you managed to come on re-freshers without paying, cough up at
the meeting this week or we'll set Tom on you!

So where to from here? I'll let the charming Ivor answer that one for you...

*Bush? Craft!

Snowbush? Ballcraft? No, BUSHCRAFT instruction weekend...This weekend!! Sign
up at the club meeting on Wednesday. First come, first serve. Learn some
vital skills for going bush or upgrade your existing ones. At least two (even
more, if you count the ones who weren't silly enough to leave the city!
Kidding! Kidding! - G) of your instructors did not get themselves hopelessly
lost last weekend! No instruction fee, just petrol ($20) and food - what a
deal!
I'll email all the info about the when, the where, the what and the how on
Thursday night to the people that get their names on the list!

Thanks Ivor! Hurhur. Okay, so, get your name down for this weekend. We'll be
teaching a range of essential bush skills - navigating, shelter, route
finding, etcetera... - at a range of levels. So if you're brand new to the
outdoors it'll give you the confidence to get out and do more, and if you're
a leathery old bush(wo)man eating roots and boiling manuka...well, you
should probably be an instructor.

If bushcraft isn't enough to satiate your appetite for wilderness knowledge,
you should sign up for !!SNOWCRAFT!! this week too. It will take place on
the 8th/9th of August, the cost is $35 and you'll learn basic snow skills
that will give you the ability to take your winter tramping to another
level. Be at this week's meeting for more information and sign ups.

Remember tomorrow's meeting will be in it's usual room (not where it was
last week!) in the Bentley's Wing.
