In a revolutionary new technique involving multiple transplants,
the green machine has been brought back to life. The Green Machine,
aka Julian Murphy's Green Avenger, officially died at 6:23pm on
the 12th of March 1995. It was though placed into a
state of suspended animation in a state of the art cryonic suspension
system and housed at 89 Creyke Road in the hope that one day a
suitable donor could be found for its revival. This day came on
the 27th of January 1996 almost a year later when searching
though the Buy, Sell and Exchange. An Avenger some six years its
junior had been maimed for life on Christmas Day and had volunteered
its working parts in the hope that they may help another. Extensive
research was done to ensure that the organs wouldn't be rejected
and then the decision was made. The White Avenger was quickly
transported to the laboratory and both were prepared for the operation
which would follow the next day. The Sunday dawned bright and
clear, surely a good omen. Work began at 10am with the removal
of the drive system and preparation of the heart. Then with a
short break over lunch and pick-up of the special instruments
required, the heart was removed and the white avenger officially
declared deceased at approximately 1:30pm. The Green Machine was
brought into the laboratory and had its new heart carefully placed
into the waiting cavity, once inserted, the digestive system from
the white avenger was inserted and then the drive system. There
were a few tense moments as the oesophagus was inserted and then
the moment arrived. Dr Cortina was brought in to assist in the
actual revival, and hark, the heart began to beat at 9:30pm.
So some 10 months and sixteen days after the accident, the car
was once again alive, but this time with a younger larger heart
and new drive system especially for those steep hills.
